Sobre S&P 500 ETF

O SPY é o ETF mais reconhecido e mais antigo cotado nos EUA e normalmente lidera os rankings em maior AUM e maior volume de negociação. O fundo acompanha o índice norte-americano extremamente popular, o S&P 500. Poucos sabem que o comité de índices da S&P escolhe 500 títulos para representar o espaço das grandes empresas dos EUA – não necessariamente os 500 maiores por capitalização bolsista, o que pode levar a algumas omissões de nomes isolados. Ainda assim, o índice oferece uma exposição excecional ao espaço das grandes empresas norte-americanas. É importante notar que o SPY é um fundo de investimento unitário, uma estrutura mais antiga mas totalmente viável. Como UIT, o SPY deve replicar totalmente o seu índice (provavelmente faria de qualquer forma) e abdicar do pequeno risco e benefício do empréstimo de títulos. Também não pode reinvestir dividendos da carteira entre distribuições, pois o arrasto de caixa resultante prejudicará ligeiramente o desempenho em mercados ascendentes e ajudará em tendências descendentes. SPY é um veículo de troca preferido no modo vanilla.
