OKX WebSocket Port 8443 Discontinuation Announcement

Published on 30 Sept 20262 min read

Dear OKX API users,

To support a network infrastructure upgrade, OKX will stop accepting WebSocket connections on port 8443 on October 31, 2026.

What's changing

Port 443 already works on all affected domains, and both ports remain available until October 31, 2026. After that date, connections to port 8443 will fail. This is a breaking change.

Affected domains

  • Production: ws.okx.com, wseea.okx.com, wsus.okx.com

  • Demo trading: wspap.okx.com, wseeapap.okx.com, wsuspap.okx.com

This applies to every path on these domains, including /ws/v5/public, /ws/v5/private, /ws/v5/business and, on the Global site, /ws/v5/public-sbe.

Action required

Remove :8443 from your WebSocket URLs before October 31, 2026. Only the port changes; the host and path stay the same. wss:// uses port 443 by default, and :443 also works.

  • Before: wss://ws.okx.com:8443/ws/v5/public

  • After: wss://ws.okx.com/ws/v5/public

What's not affected

  • REST API

  • Colo connections
